Pecos Bill
Way out West down Texas way
Out where the varmints and the critters play
A pioneer family was looking' for elbow room.
The youngest of the young'uns, they called him Bill.
Fell out of the wagon and down a hill,
But a momma coyote saved that boy from doom.
He learned the ways of the creatures wild and free.
Havin' lots of fun on the lone prairie
Until one day he decided to be, the greatest cowboy in history.
Yippie Yi Yi Yay
Yippie Yi Yi Yo
Every day was a rodeo.
Yippie Yi Yi Yay
Yippie Yi Yi Yi
No one could rope and tie like Pecos Bill (Yee-Ha)
Now Bill's best friend and trusty steed
A highfalutin' creature with blazing speed
Was a horse called Lightning, no one could tame.
Together they traveled on the desert range
Inventin' up things that were mighty strange
Then a catfish ridin' girl stole ole' Bill's heart.
His eyes bugged out and opened wide
And she became his bouncing bride.
Well, the tall tales grow like the piney tree
About the greatest cowboy in history.
Yippie Yi Yi Yay
Yippie Yi Yi Yo
Every day was a rodeo.
Yippie Yi Yi Yay
Yippie Yi Yi Yi
No one could rope and tie like Pecos Bill (Yee-Ha)
